3D Reconstruction and Visualization of OSferion Bone Void Filling

3D reconstruction is a powerful process that converts a set of 2D images into its equivalent 3D form. OSferion, on the other hand, is a bone void filler that allows the resorption of bone during the healing process. As the doctors and surgeons find it difficult to distinguish the bone abnormalities due to the images are in 2D form and are of poor clarity especially the area around the bioceramic block, it is important to improve the clarity so that they do not end up with the wrong diagnosis. It has been proven that 3D models do in fact improve the visualization of the CT scan images, hence this work is an extension of past works whereby the efficiency of the 3D reconstruction algorithms is evaluated through similarity percentages and vertices and faces reduction percentage.
